Portable shortwave receivers are normally equiped with short telescopic whip antennas producing a poor reception. This option has more selectivity and a better impedance (low Z) over the 5-21 MHz range. A 2-section capacitor can be used wit a larger loop aswell. Construction is easy and a plastic enclosure should be used. If you switch a 1200 pF capacitor over the loop base you can tune 80m. aswell (-:
